With main lighting in place, it's time to think about what interior designers refer to as 'layered lighting' options. Essentially, what this means is having a number of different ways to add a little practicality or even ambience, so when bright ceiling lights will be a little too much, task lighting comes into its own.
Who says they’re only good for firewood? These old crates are casual, cool and bring in a rustic/vintage touch. And let’s not overlook the fact that their dark hues become quite prominent in this otherwise light-toned bedroom.
With a drawer for some valuables, the top surfaces are open to display a few select pieces that speak of the owner’s personality and style, while also ensuring additional colour for the room’s scheme.
From natural restorative sunlight through to soft side lamps and practical main lighting, there are a number of layered options to include and prioritise, in order to get the full benefit of a bedroom.
