Here, a simple floor to ceiling built-in cupboard looks great and does a magnificent job of hiding all the clothing away, out of sight. This, in turn, leads to the bed being the rightful focal point of the room.
When it comes to installing the best bedroom lighting, there has to be consideration given to the simplest, cheapest and most effective style of illumination; natural light! Whether this means replacing outdated window dressings with sheer, gauzy drapes in summer or even negating them altogether (if there are no neighbours to worry about), maximising the light flow into a bedroom will allow for a far more understated style of rejuvenation, not to mention better sleeping habits.
Clutter will find a way to infiltrate our lives, unless we resort to clever measures to keep it at bay. But don’t think that this is only true of the ‘working’ and ‘socialising’ areas in our homes, like the kitchen and living room, for the bedroom has also been known to become quite messy if one’s not careful.
This attic conversion has produced the most incredible bedroom, complete with all the requisite lighting options, thanks to ceiling lights, task lamps and particularly effective skylights. There are even large candles as well, as accent lighting options, but there is still a wonderfully minimalist and chic vibe. The proof of the pudding really is in the eating and this bedroom proves that layered lighting is design is delicious.
