Understandably, given the recent surge in popularity, there is a school of thought that L-shaped kitchens are merely for more modern or starkly contemporary homes, but that doesn't have to be the case. Try other ideas like barn-board planking, milled reclaimed wood, randomly placed slate tiles, brick, linoleum tile and cork for your country kitchen floor and see how these go with your choice of cabinetry, colours, furnishings, etc.
